Sorry we haven't blogged in quite some time. We have been very busy chasing after the little one who isn't that little anymore. He is currently 27# at 17 months old. Jacob started the toddler room at daycare on January 6 and just loves it. There were a few days where he didn't want Mommy to leave, but he soon warmed up and I am lucky if I get a "bye-bye" from him now. Oh, they grow up so fast...
Jacob has been doing well, except 2 weeks ago we had to take him to ER due to his eyes were really caked with goo and he kept rubbing his right ear. They gave him Augmentin for 10 days, which we thought worked. His last dose was Friday, and then yesterday he developed the eye crud again. Daycare sent him home today due to the seeping eyes. So Pete had to take him to the doctor and he still has conjunctivitis and something else ROM...not sure what that is. Anyway, he is on eye drops, ear drops, and an antibiotic. Lucky him. His spirits are good though.
Pete is getting ready to get back to work soon. He had an interview a couple weeks ago for Shell Oil down in Florida that went well. He finally got accepted and was going to take it, but then they wanted him to fly down for a specific medical class before getting out to work. Well, we just didn't have the funds to fly him down again plus pay for the class. Plus he also had to take an Officer Induction class and no one could tell him when it was. We really couldn't wait for him to get back to work. So he was then going to take a job on a ROS ship (Military reserve ship) that is sitting in a Washington port. He was supposed to fly out on March 16. But then, Shell called back and said he didn't have to take the class in Florida and the 6-day Induction class would be starting on March 23 in London, England !! After much debating and such, Pete has decided to go with Shell afterall. It will be a great opportunity and can be a lifetime career with them. Plus, after London, they will be flying him to Italy for more training. They pay for his airfare, the class, his hotel and such, plus he gets paid for his time!!! I am jealous because I have never been to England or Italy and have always wanted to go. Unfortunately, I can't take the time off and we don't have the funds right now. Plus, Jacob not feeling well puts a damper on things.
I also can't take the time off because come mid-August, I will need about 8 weeks off from work...yes, that's right 8 weeks!!! If you don't know what for yet....well, I guess Jacob has waited long enough to tell you all....BABY #2 is coming!! Yep, we are 16 weeks 5 days as of right now. On March 16, I have another appointment and maybe able to find out the sex if we want to. We haven't decided if we will, but we will decide next week.
So that's what has been going on here...oh besides all the snow we got this winter. I think we got somewhere around 260 inches. There is still about 2 feet on the ground in most places and many of the banks are several feet high yet. As we speak, we are getting some kind of storm, first snow, then rain, then freezing rain. Up here, they call any storm in March the St. Patrick's Day storm because it is usually one of the last we get until a next winter.
Here is a video and some pictures of Jacob trying to walk in Mommy's shoes, playing with the kitty, and just having fun.

Where's the kitty?
Can you see her?

Congrats on the pregnancy! And congrats to Pete on the Shell job. Sorry to hear Jacob has been sick. Amelia had double ear infections a couple of weeks ago - it wasn't fun!
Congratulations on the baby! That's great news. I've got only 10 weeks to go before ours comes.
I wish that you were coming to London too. You could come stay with us for a few days.
Congratulations on the new little one. How exciting!
