Merry Christmas!!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's been a while but we have been busy plowing snow and getting ready for Christmas vacation. Pete was able to come home on Thanksgiving night for about 1 week, but before we picked him up in Marquette, Jacob and I got into a little car accident. We are fine, but the car has a little damage. Someone decided to pull right out in front of us on a very icy highway without any room for them. Needless to say, I was a little shaken up, but Jacob thought we were just going for a ride. Pete had to go back to work after a week, but ended up only being gone 1 week again, when I got a surprise call last Friday that he was coming home for the season. So now he can drive downstate to my parents for Christmas. Hurray!!

Jacob is starting to really take off. He still loves to crawl because he can get there faster, but he can walk about 10 feet in distance before falling down or giving up. He laughs every time he falls. Don't have any video of it yet to put on here, but we will after the holidays.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We will have to come to England to visit and spend it.

Baby Proofing!!

Yes, the time has come that we must baby proof. Jacob just learned to crawl on July 24th. I picked him from daycare and he hadn't yet crawled until he saw me and moved just a little bit forward. I was so excited I didn't miss it. Jacob turned 10 months yesterday and is all over the place. He has taken an interest in the vcr, entertainment center drawer (which we still have to put locks on), and the standing fan. Those seem to be the most interesting items, but so far no incidences have occurred. Here is a couple videos from over the weekend, Zed got in the way a little bit of the first one.

And for those of you who don't know yet, Jacob will have to hold off being a big brother for a while. Things didn't go so smoothly this time around and so we will try again soon. It was hard the first several days, but we are doing ok now. All the thoughts and prayers helped us through and we know God has a plan for us. Take care and we love you all.

9 months old!!

Sorry to all of you that check our blog regularly. We have been meaning to update the blog, but just haven't found the time. But now that we are, we have a lot to update.

First, we took a trip to Grandma and Grandpa Bradley's for Father's Day weekend. It was a 9 1/2 hr trip, but Jacob did great. We got to visit for a couple of hours with our friends Darci and Mike and their girls Lindsay and Audrey. Audrey is a one week younger than Jacob. We also got to see Aunt Susan, cousins Amber, Cory, Alysa, Brooklyn, Gage, and Alaynna. Jacob got to go swimming for the first time too. We didn't get our pool up this year because the weather hasn't been consistently warm and Lake Superior isn't exactly a nice temperature yet. Jacob also got to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Westbrook for a quick visit before heading out of town. On the way back upnorth, we had to stop by our house in Traverse City to meet with our renters, but of course they dodged us. So we then went to visit with Kristen and Adam and little Zachary for a bit in Kalkaska before heading up to Mackinaw City for the night. We did a little shopping and then headed back home Monday morning.

Pete went in for a hernia repair this past Monday and is doing great. He gets to be lazy for a while and will go back to work in about 6 weeks.

Today, Jacob turned 9 months old!!! So we have tons of pictures to show, including his professional pics. Oh, and he is going to be a big brother come end of January-February. Yes, we are expecting Tormala #2. We are very excited and can't wait. Anyway, here are pics since our last blog. Take care.
Jacob laughing, he loves playing on the floor.

On of our strolls when the weather was nice! We have to take advantage of these days. Jacob's day care takes a lot of walks so that's great.

Daddy and Jacob posing.

Jacob is really wanting to be mobile. He is scooting a lot both on belly and sitting, but we think he may skip crawling. We have been walking with him holding his hands a lot.

Our long truck ride to Grandma and Grandpa Bradley's for Father's Day weekend. He travels really well.

Jacob with cousins Amber (holding him), and two of her kids Gage and little Alaynna.

Cousins Brooklyn, Alaynna and Jacob.

Jacob's first swimming experience. He wasn't sure at first because the water was a little cold, but he got used to it. I think he liked it.

Daddy wouldn't get in though. He thought it was too cold.

Jacob and Aunt Susan.

Great Grandpa Westbrook. He thinks he is going to teach Jacob how to drive someday.....Grandpa doesn't have a license anymore:)

Great Grandma Westbrook.

Jacob and Zachary, his friend that lives in Kalkaska. This is the first time they got to meet.

Once arriving to Mackinaw City in our hotel, Jacob was tired so he needed to let out a little steam with his mouth.

Before leaving the hotel, Daddy made Jacob a pillow bunker.

Jacob and Mommy by the beach. It was cool but nice.

Jacob got his new carseat. He grew out of his infant seat already.

Jacob and Daddy playing.

Grandma and Grandpa Tormala came over to play with Jacob.

Today, Jacob is 9 months!!!

Jacob likes to talk a lot, and sometimes pretends he is crying to get attention. It works some of the time.

And finally...

Happy 4th of July a little early!!

My first airplane ride!!

I went on my first airplane ride a couple weeks ago. My mommy got a call from Grandma B that Great Grandma Bradley died. So mommy and I flew to Los Angeles on April 30. I know mommy was sad about going for a funeral, but we were also happy because we got to see my Grandma and Grandpa Bradley, Great Aunts Pat, Barb, Sherri, Great Uncle Ralph, cousins Lisa, Taylor, Shawna, Stacy, Miranda, and Morgan.
We first flew from Hancock, MI (local airport) to St. Paul MN. Then from there we flew to LA. Mommy rented a car and we drove down to San Diego. It was only supposed to take about 2 1/2 hrs, but it took us about 3 1/2 since I was hungry and needed changin'. We stayed with Great Aunt Pat, Great Uncle Ralph, and cousin Shawna. Great Aunt Sherri and Uncle Mark stayed there to for a few days.
Here are a few pictures of the trip.

My last picture before driving back to LA. There is Great Aunt Barb, Grandpa B in the back, Great Uncle Mark, Great Aunt Pat, and Great Aunt Sherri is holding me.

Mommy and I drove to LA and got to meet this guy at the hotel we stayed before flying back home the next day. Yep, IT'S MY DADDY!! He was planning on getting off in LA, and so it was lucky we were able to fly home on the same flight!! How cool is that!! I even remembered him. It took me staring at him a couple minutes because it was dark, and a long ride, but I remembered him. I am glad he is home and so is Mommy. He was gone for 129 days!

Me sitting up at Grandma and Grandpa Tormala's the day after our flight home. I learned how to sit up really good and say "mommamommamomma" in so many syllables while I was in CA.
