Hello

Well, a lot has been going on, but haven't had a chance to blog. I have 6 weeks until the baby comes. It was officially scheduled for Aug. 12 at 7am, so getting excited! Baby is moving a lot and so is Jacob, so Mommy is tired most of the time to say the least. I actually had another checkup today and lost a pound. So that puts my total weight gain at 5 lbs, but the doctor isn't worried since the baby is growing and moving well.

Pete is in South Korea at Port Okpo. He is currently in an apartment at the shipyard. He should be able to get on the ship to start working in a few days. The ship is currently under construction and won't be completed until October. So he isn't quite sure what he will be doing until then, but he will find out as they feel the need to let him know:) It isn't that hard having him gone because we are used to it. The hard part is not knowing when he will be home. They said 4 months but that could change. The other hard part is the 13 hour time change, trying to plan when to call each other. Missing the birth of the baby will be hard too, but we planned on that happening, so it won't be a shocker that he isn't here, just disappointing the company won't let him come home for 2 weeks. Oh well, that's life of a sailor I guess.

I have a few new pictures of Jacob. I need to take more, but just forget because he is so busy and I am too tired most of the time to get the camera..lol. But here they are.

I'm now it

Cousin Lois tagged me. This is a game one of her Mommy's friends wanted to play. The object of the game is to find your fourth picture file and the fourth picture in it. Then you post it with an explanation of the picture. Then you are to tag 4 other bloggers to do it.

Here I am at a month and few days old, smiling up at Mommy. Not a full body shot, but who needs it with a face like mine!

Well, we only know one other blogger besides cousin Heather but she already got tagged, so Krista you're it.

What's New You Ask???

Hello everyone,

Sorry we haven't blogged in quite some time. We have been very busy chasing after the little one who isn't that little anymore. He is currently 27# at 17 months old. Jacob started the toddler room at daycare on January 6 and just loves it. There were a few days where he didn't want Mommy to leave, but he soon warmed up and I am lucky if I get a "bye-bye" from him now. Oh, they grow up so fast...

Jacob has been doing well, except 2 weeks ago we had to take him to ER due to his eyes were really caked with goo and he kept rubbing his right ear. They gave him Augmentin for 10 days, which we thought worked. His last dose was Friday, and then yesterday he developed the eye crud again. Daycare sent him home today due to the seeping eyes. So Pete had to take him to the doctor and he still has conjunctivitis and something else ROM...not sure what that is. Anyway, he is on eye drops, ear drops, and an antibiotic. Lucky him. His spirits are good though.

Pete is getting ready to get back to work soon. He had an interview a couple weeks ago for Shell Oil down in Florida that went well. He finally got accepted and was going to take it, but then they wanted him to fly down for a specific medical class before getting out to work. Well, we just didn't have the funds to fly him down again plus pay for the class. Plus he also had to take an Officer Induction class and no one could tell him when it was. We really couldn't wait for him to get back to work. So he was then going to take a job on a ROS ship (Military reserve ship) that is sitting in a Washington port. He was supposed to fly out on March 16. But then, Shell called back and said he didn't have to take the class in Florida and the 6-day Induction class would be starting on March 23 in London, England !! After much debating and such, Pete has decided to go with Shell afterall. It will be a great opportunity and can be a lifetime career with them. Plus, after London, they will be flying him to Italy for more training. They pay for his airfare, the class, his hotel and such, plus he gets paid for his time!!! I am jealous because I have never been to England or Italy and have always wanted to go. Unfortunately, I can't take the time off and we don't have the funds right now. Plus, Jacob not feeling well puts a damper on things.

I also can't take the time off because come mid-August, I will need about 8 weeks off from work...yes, that's right 8 weeks!!! If you don't know what for yet....well, I guess Jacob has waited long enough to tell you all....BABY #2 is coming!! Yep, we are 16 weeks 5 days as of right now. On March 16, I have another appointment and maybe able to find out the sex if we want to. We haven't decided if we will, but we will decide next week.

So that's what has been going on here...oh besides all the snow we got this winter. I think we got somewhere around 260 inches. There is still about 2 feet on the ground in most places and many of the banks are several feet high yet. As we speak, we are getting some kind of storm, first snow, then rain, then freezing rain. Up here, they call any storm in March the St. Patrick's Day storm because it is usually one of the last we get until a next winter.
Here is a video and some pictures of Jacob trying to walk in Mommy's shoes, playing with the kitty, and just having fun.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Well, we had a busy time this Christmas. We started out travelling downstate to my parents on the 23rd only to have BAD weather the whole way. And surprise surprise, Sanilac County happened to be the worst ( for those of you from there, you know what I am talking about..lol).

But we finally made it around 1:30am on the 24th. It took us about 12 1/2 hrs. We made it back in about 10 hrs but with strong winds. We had a great time at Grandma and Grandpa Bradley's. Jacob got to spend a little time with Aunt Susan, cousins Amber and her kids Brooklyn 4, Gage 3, and Alaynna 18 mths, cousins Cory 17, Alysa 14, and Brianna 12. Santa came there and brought Jacob some nice presents.

Before we left to come back home, we had Jacob baptized at the church I grew up in. We only have camcorder video of the ceremony, but there is one pic from that day.

When we got home, we had our own family Christmas, where Santa was really good to Jacob since he had been such a good boy. Enjoy the pictures.

Jacob doesn't like to keep his hat on too long, but here he kept it on long enough for me to get a shot

Merry Christmas!!

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it's been a while but we have been busy plowing snow and getting ready for Christmas vacation. Pete was able to come home on Thanksgiving night for about 1 week, but before we picked him up in Marquette, Jacob and I got into a little car accident. We are fine, but the car has a little damage. Someone decided to pull right out in front of us on a very icy highway without any room for them. Needless to say, I was a little shaken up, but Jacob thought we were just going for a ride. Pete had to go back to work after a week, but ended up only being gone 1 week again, when I got a surprise call last Friday that he was coming home for the season. So now he can drive downstate to my parents for Christmas. Hurray!!

Jacob is starting to really take off. He still loves to crawl because he can get there faster, but he can walk about 10 feet in distance before falling down or giving up. He laughs every time he falls. Don't have any video of it yet to put on here, but we will after the holidays.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Love ya, the Tormala's

We will have to come to England to visit and spend it.

Baby Proofing!!

Yes, the time has come that we must baby proof. Jacob just learned to crawl on July 24th. I picked him from daycare and he hadn't yet crawled until he saw me and moved just a little bit forward. I was so excited I didn't miss it. Jacob turned 10 months yesterday and is all over the place. He has taken an interest in the vcr, entertainment center drawer (which we still have to put locks on), and the standing fan. Those seem to be the most interesting items, but so far no incidences have occurred. Here is a couple videos from over the weekend, Zed got in the way a little bit of the first one.

And for those of you who don't know yet, Jacob will have to hold off being a big brother for a while. Things didn't go so smoothly this time around and so we will try again soon. It was hard the first several days, but we are doing ok now. All the thoughts and prayers helped us through and we know God has a plan for us. Take care and we love you all.
